Network Switch, a Windows application that is offered by SysTools for the great price of free, can perform two tasks: create network configurations, a.k.a. “switches,” and easily switch from one network configuration to another.

To add a new “switch” you will have to enter the following details: network name, IP address details (IP address, subnet mask, gateway), DNS address details (preferred DNS server, alternate DNS server). Once you’ve created multiple switches, you can change from one to another by right clicking Network Switch’s icon from the system tray.

The system requirement for running Network Switch are: at least 1GHz processor (2.4GHz or better recommended); at least 512MB of RAM (1GB or more recommended); at least 5MB of free disk space; Microsoft’s Windows operating system (current as well as older versions are supported). These system requirements are so low that even older, low spec PCs will easily meet them.

While Network Switch is running, you will see its green icon in the system tray. Right click said icon and a context menu will show up. This context menu features the following entries:
Switch – select and enable whatever switch you want.
Add – create a new network switch.
Update – edit an existing network switch.
Delete – remove unnecessary switches.
Contacts us – opens the About Us menu that features contact info.
View Website – open SysTools’ official website.
Quit – close the Network Switch application.

Right click Network Switch’s system tray icon and select Add from the context menu to create new network configurations, a.k.a. “switches”. Once you’re done creating all the switches you need, right click the system tray icon, go to Switch, and enable the switch you want. Using Network Switch really is that simple!

The downside is that Network Switch doesn’t mark the active switch. There’s should be a check mark next to the switch that you activated.

SysTools has several products to offer – some are paid, some are freeware. Network Switch is among the company’s freeware offering.

With Network Switch by your side you can quickly create network configurations and easily switch from one configuration to another.

Pros

The system requirements for running Network Switch are quite low. You can easily create new network configurations, easily update them, easily delete them, and easily switch from one configuration to another. Network Switch is free software.

Cons

If would be nice if the active switch was highlighted with a checkmark or in some other way.
